Press Release - Ingfield Manor School unveils new accommodation area

February - 2008

Pupils and staff at Ingfield Manor School got a glimpse of their newly refurbished accommodation area for the first time last Friday.

The 'unveiling' of the £800,000 refurbishment was led by headteacher Alistair Bruce. The residential pupils were the first to see the area, and then they were joined by all pupils.

The ribbon was cut by Katie Holland, age 12. Everyone toured the renovated ground floor, which is comprised of single and double bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, as well as the new dining, communal and kitchen areas.

Ingfield Manor School is a nationally recognised, independent day and residential special school catering for boys and girls with cerebral palsy aged 3-16.

The pupils presented a card to Julia Pole, Project Manager, to thank her for all her hard work. They then presented cards to the design team, led by Toby Rollestone from UKBS PLC, and to the contractors, led by Cheesmurs from Lewes.

Mr Bruce said: "I would like to thank everyone who has been involved in this refurbishment for all their hard work. This is such a valuable investment in the school’s future. The area has really been transformed and it’s fantastic to see the new residences."
